Yoga Life Drawing

Join illustrator Kate Philipson and Yoke’s much-loved teacher Alan Ellman for two and a half hours of movement & creativity. Whether you are a professional artist or haven’t picked up a pen in years, life drawing is a great way to relax and unlock creativity. This workshop will begin with a short yoga sequence to get your mind and body warmed up and ready to draw. After which, you’ll sit back with your sketchbook and let the yoga model do the work.

Anatomy for Asana - Accessing the Full Range of Motion in the Shoulder Girdle

This workshop will build on the foundations of the first workshop of the series based upon grounding the feet, legs and pelvis. We will start to look at how stability in the feet and legs can be used to access deeper breathing to improve the range of motion in the shoulders and upper chest. Once the organs are 'placed' the brain is released and greater sensitivity of the back of the body is possible which is key to not only improving backbends but enjoying their many health benefits.

Anatomy for Asana - Grounding the feet, legs and pelvis

Nothing lasting is built on a shaky foundation. These days some of us are in such a rush to stand on our hands we forget how to stand on our feet.

This two hour workshop will focus on the anatomy of the lower body - the feet and ankles, how they relate to the knees, groins and pelvis and how to integrate them together to find balance and stability and avoid common injuries and strain that may show up years later.
